Adding our sense of unique style to the straps, we designed 2 flags… First one is the all-new MAJOR NEVER MINOR flag, inspired by some of the world’s best hardcore bands that came out of the DC area in the 80’s.   Second one is the MAJOR Infantry flag, featuring our Trinity symbol.  Both are hand-sewn to the strap, so when you wear the MAJOR backpack, everyone will know that you are representing the worldwide MAJOR massive!

Available at the Georgetown Showroom on Saturday, July 31st, and the MAJOR Online Shopping Channel on Monday, August 2nd.

On Sunday, May 16th at 1:35 a.m., our fam & employee extraordinaire Cris Zepeda went home to the Lord.  Cris suffered a massive head injury in a skateboarding accident on May 10th, and though he fought a strong fight for 5 days, his short but vibrant life on earth ended on Sunday.  Cris had to be the kindest and most positive person that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting or working with in my entire life, and I, along, with everyone else here will miss his smile and his passion for life, as we will cherish his memories.

UPDATE: The wake will be at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Thursday, May 20th, starting at 8 p.m. 3304 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA.  The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 21st at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 3305 Glen Carlyn Road, Falls Church, VA 22041.  The procession will follow after the service to Fairfax Memorial Park, where Cris will be laid to rest.

Cris graduated from TC Williams High School in 2008, and had just finished his sophomore year at the Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.  Cris came to work at MAJOR as a part time associate in September 2009, and became an instant favorite around here, as his giant heart, and his positive can-do attitude played an integral part in the rebuilding of the MAJOR experience.  Cris helped EVERYONE from owners, managers, employees to even problem customers.  Cris always managed to keep a smile on his face, even under the toughest circumstances, and he always showed compassion and love towards others.  If there was anyone that looked genuinely excited to be at work everyday, it was always Cris, and he made sure that everyone else cracked a smile, even if we were having a bad day, or things were stressful.

Cris was just a big kid, with a heart of gold.  He really loved everyone, especially the kids, as he often played with my own 2 kids that referred to him as “Uncle Zee.”  But Cris was also the most focused, and serious staffer we had at MAJOR, as his contributions to this store was monumental.  He went by his daily tasks with precision, and focused on making sure that the customers were happy leaving through the door.  On that Monday morning, before the boarding accident, I had just informed Cris that he had been promoted as an Assistant Manager.  He was elated, and said “Thank you!  I won’t let you down.  I’ll do my best!”  Those were the last words that I heard from him.

In my career and personal experience, I’ve met a lot of great people.  But Cris Zepeda was truly the person with the biggest heart.  He was humble, passionate, hard-working, fun and positive human being.  We are all thankful for the privilege of knowing Cris Zepeda, and he touched a lot of people in his 19 years on this earth.

I, along with everyone here, am overwhelmed with the sadness of not being able to see Cris anymore.  But he is with us forever… MAJOR fam for Life!

*The comment section is usually disabled, but for this post, we will leave the comments open so you can share your fond memories of Cris with the rest of the world.

We start our 3 year old celebration an hour early tonight, with the MAJOR 3rd Anniversary Sale/Special Release Event at 11 p.m.

Here’s an invitation to all of our extended family, and thanks for keeping us worthy of “The Only Store That Matters!” tagline.

Please keep in mind that the sale lasts 3 hours only, and we are definitely rewarding our core customers who have been with us from day 1, when you lined up for hours to our grand opening!

Thanks from the MAJOR familia for 3 years of support, and here’s to 30 more!

On December 17th, 2006 at Midnight, we gave birth to the first premium sneaker & streetwear boutique destination in Washington DC.  From the beginning MAJOR was a movement about sneakers, gear, fitteds, and attitude that exudes confidence & superiority.  From the very first New Era collab fitted to each one of our storied sneaker and gear collaborations, we have maintained the confidence that we are the Only Store That Matters.  All of you, the extended MAJOR family, have chosen us as the go-to destination, and supported us to remain at the top of people’s choice here in DC & worldwide.

To thank our nocturnal MAJOR family, we are holding a special sale event on Wednesday, December 16th, starting at 11 pm.  For 3 hours only (11 pm to 2 am), everything we have on the floor will be 30% off. On top of that, we will be dropping 2 collaborations with 2 very important brands, along with a fitted cap or two to celebrate this occasion.

Here is a sneak preview of what collabs are coming:

Just like when we opened for the first time, we cannot tell you too many details, and details will be revealed as the time nears.  Please do not call us about the sale or collabos, just show up, be with other like-minded MAJOR fam, and enjoy the savings and new exclusive stuff.

Once again, the entire staff at MAJOR thanks you for your support… And together we will always be on top!!!

Once again, our friends at Complex Magazine, along with recording artist, Mickey Factz, have recognized MAJOR as the destination spot in Washington DC for all your style needs.  Appearing in December/January Issue of the magazine, which is in stands today, your favorite store is prominently featured in the Honda Style Guide for this holiday season.  Go cop a copy!

MAJOR usually sees daily share of celebrities and greats that walk through our doors, but we were surprised by the visit this morning from the King himself, Lebron James, along with Cavs teammates Mo Williams, Daniel Gibson, and Jawad Williams.

Special thanks to our friend, Randy Mims, for stopping through and always repping MAJOR!

You probably heard about the collaboration between our boys over at The Hundreds and SE Bikes to create the world’s first 26″ PK Ripper BMX Bike.  What you didn’t know was that MAJOR was going to GIVE away a bike to a lucky MAJOR shopper on August 26th, when we host The Hundreds x SE Bikes Release Event & Raffle Drawing at our Georgetown Showroom.

The evening’s activities will include the showing of the TH x SE PK Ripper, plus the drawing at the end of the evening to announce the winner of the MAJOR raffle contest.  During the event, you will see some of the classic pieces from The Hundreds, preserved from our archives in deadstock condition for sale, as well as giveaways from The Hundreds and MAJOR, along with free Amp energy drinks from our friends at Amp!

So hurry down to MAJOR to get those raffle tickets.  You can buy each raffle ticket for $25, or get 1 for every $50 MAJOR brand purchase (fitted caps & collabo tees), or $50 The Hundreds brand purchase.

We may have more surprises along the way, as we are always working to bring DC only the best… In the meantime, check out more pictures of the bike, and the special edition t-shirt created for the bike.

Come support MAJOR & The Hundreds on August 26th… You know Kevin Durant loves both brands (We wish Kev the best this NBA season, as he represents the best of the DMV hoops talent)!
