Converse launches the third, limited collection of Missoni for Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoes for men and women.

Continuing on the success of the 2010 collaboration between Converse and Missoni, two new styles are available from these iconic brands for this Spring 2011 season. Again using iconic Missoni space-dyed knits, this collection includes vibrant multi colored horizontal stripe patterns using the exclusive to Converse First String Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette, originally created for the US military in the 1960s.

A women’s only version is available in a palette of aqua green, purple and black and a men’s (unisex) version comes in varying shades of green, yellow, red and blue. Each includes an embossed monochromatic Chuck Taylor All Star leather logo patch and high level construction throughout.

All of us at MAJOR are honored to be a launch destination of the first collaborative effort between Jordan Brand and NYC artist, Vashtie Kola.

This is the first time that Jordan Brand is paying homage to all the female sneakerheads that are just as passionate about kicks as the guys, but rock them with much more flair.

Vashtie, the Downtown’s Sweetheart, well known in both music industry and fashion industry as an innovator and a style icon, was approached by Jordan Brand to work on a collab that is strictly for the ladies.

The end result is this beautiful lavender Jordan Retro II, which will be sold this Saturday, October 2nd at MAJOR (we will open at 11 a.m.).

Available in Kids Sizes 4 to 7 (which is 5.5 to 8.5 in Women’s Sizes).  Phone orders will be taken at 12 Noon, if there are any sizes left.

MAJOR is very pleased to announce the launch of the Women’s exclusive Converse (Product) Red Chuck Taylor by Vena Cava, on Saturday, December 5th.

Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock were fated to work together. When just out of high school, a mutual friend introduced them in LA. they soon started their own clothing line, Vena Cava. “It started mainly as a way to have a party and show our friends the clothes we’d made. It developed into a mini collection that was shown during fashion week.” And not long after that it started making fashion headlines and getting worn by the young and stylish—and famous.

For Converse 1HUND(RED) Artists, the Vena Cava girls did a version of their Havisu print, which captures their aesthetic, a combination of deco and Native American. “We want to wear it and we want our friends to wear it of course,” Buhai says. “If we designed a shoe that in even a small way helps with the AIDS situation in Africa, then we’re happy to do so.”
